How do i get melted candle wax off my blue rug?

we had to do this when someone dumped a votive.use ice first, to make some of it hard and crunchy and you can scrape a good deal of it off with the backside of a butter knife. then, a warm iron, lots and lots of paper towels and a few brown paper bags... iron gently over the spot with afolded paper towel over the wax to absorb what melts..use a piece of the brown paper bag to keep the iron off the rest of the carpet.. . keep doing it over and over.use your fingers to fluff the fibers back up every now and then... when you THINK you got it all, use the brown paper bag to iron over the spot... if a greasy spot happens on the brown paper, there's more wax down there to get...once you're pretty sure it's all gone, shampoo the area to get the last of it out... good luck.. it takes a while.
Melt it again and scoop it up when it's hot?
Use an iron to melt it under wax paper and it should come right up.
put a rag down on the wax spot and use a iron to melt it into the rag.you might need more than one peice of rag.

There is stuff on the market called De-Solv-it. I make candles & it's awesome. You can buy it at Walmart, & other places. Or you can try laying a paper towel over it & heating with an iron. Or searching the websites for that specific problem.
I've had that same problem...You take a paper grocery bag and open it up so it is just one thickness. Lay it over the wax and put a low heat iron over it for a short time (10 or 15 seconds). then move the paper to a clean section and do this again and again until there is nothing on the paper, the paper should soak up the wax and it should be gone. I got red candle wax on my cream carpet (lots) and it worked great. You can't even teoo where it was today!
Rub ice on it & break it up in small pieces. This will minimize the staining
blow dryer..blow & wipe..good luck..
