I would like to know about dual washer/dryer machine?

Question:I have been looking at new washers and dryers and came across a machine that is a washer and dryer in ONE machine. I would like to know how well they work and if they are good to have and worth the money to buy.

Answers:
I really wouldn't buy a two in one. I bought a new top of the range Hotpoint washer dryer and it has been broken longer than it has been working and it costs so much to fix even though it's under warranty, it's impossible to empty the filter so the pipe fills up with fluff and stuff, then we get charged $110 to have it emptied. This has happened 4 times in 7 months, now we have just left it broken and bought the cheapest separates we would and they have not broken once (fingers crossed they wont). A 2 in 1 also takes much more time because you can't wash and dry at the same time. Our repair man has said that he would never recommend a 2 in 1 of any make, it's better to go for separates and you will save more in the long run.

Well usually their capacity is MUCH less than that of a traditional set of an individual washer and dryer...which means you'll be running it more often, and using more electricity, etc, so they're usually not energy efficient at all. Without giving the details of brand and model, it's difficult to comment on much more than that...
ive never used one but saw one on a show about space saving in apartments and the lady that owned had no complaints about it she loved it not sure though exactly how it works except the obvious it washes and drys your clothes but i dont have any personel experience with them
I have a splendide 2100 combo unit in my RV and we wash big loads & it dose not seem to be bad on power bill but it will take longer as it has to do both cycles. It uses a bunch less water than a standard washer also. If you get one make sure you get a vented model as the non vented model is inefficient and not worth buying. If you have need of a small unit (lack of space) the Splendide is what you need & can be ordered on line direct from Splendide.
no good
I would be afraid if one element was shot, the whole thing would have to be replaced.
We rented a studio in France and the unit had one of
the washer/dryer units you are asking about. It was
front loading and held a smaller than normal load and
took a lot of time to go thru the wash cycle, tho it did
a great job cleaning the clothing. The dryer cycle also
took twice as long as a normal size machine- so if
you don't have a lot of time to do laundry or need to do
a few loads in a day, you are looking at 3 hours per load.
If you don't do much wash, it won't be such a big deal,
but if you are like me, I need to do 3 or 4 loads on my
wash day and it takes a lot less time when you can dry a load
while another load is washing. I bought a stack unit, with
the dryer and washer stacked together, it cost about $850
and I am really happy with the machine, as I didn't have the room to put the typical washer and dryer set.
i posted a similar answer on the below link, take a look
