What do you take to a drycleaner?
Question:I don't take anything to a drycleaner. Should I be? What exactly are you supposed to take to a drycleaner? Maybe I just don't buy expensive enough clothing...I have no idea.
Answers:
If I bring anything to the dry cleaner, it would be my husbands suit when he uses it for weddings or funerals. other than that if anything says dry clean only, I purchase Dryel Dry cleaning kit for about $7.00 and it has everything in there for dry cleaning your clothes. you can put 4 sometimes 5or 6 items in the bag, it all depends on what they are . and you can use it 4 times. If you have dry cleaning this is the way to go.
I take clothes that would be damaged in the washer: silks, organdy, linen, suits. Anything you can imagine being ruined by being soaked in water and agitated, then followed up by a trip around the dryer--yoicks! Thank goodness for the dry cleaner LOL!
The last thing I took to the dry cleaner I forgot to pick up when we moved. Most things can be cleaned at home.
If the tag says "dry clean only," then I take it to a dry cleaner. Clothing that requires dry cleaning usually does cost more than clothing that doesn't. I also have my drapes dry cleaned once a year.
When the Tag says Dry Clean I use 2 bring them to the cleaners I now do it at home they sell the kit in all grocery stores now.Satin, Silk, Leathers,Sweaters,Quilts,Lace
Wedding Gown,Dress,Men's Suits just read your tag.Good Luck
Delicate items should be taken to the cleaners. Items such as silks, wools, and linens. A lot of men's clothes is not dry clean only. Some of the few men's items that must be dry cleaned are ties and suits.
Just check the care tag and you should be fine.
nothing most things can be washed at low temp even if they say dried cleaned
It is the material not the price:
Wool should go to the drycleaner to prevent shrinkage.
Rayon is a dry clean fabric. You can do a home washing but it will be limp instead of the crisp appearance of Rayon.
Leather/suede should go to the drycleaner although I know some home methods for occassional spots.
Feather pillows should go to drycleaner to be sterilized by the ultra violet. Home washing with tennis balls or tennis shoes in the dryer to beat the pillow so the stuffing don't lump while drying; same with down filled jackets. If you desire a sharp pant crease or nice looking lapels on dress jackets and pants (suit) - - take to dry cleaners.
Silk can be hand washed in cold water and separate from other items, hung to dry plus cool iron on the wrinkles; easier to take to dry cleaner.
