Answers:
Raise you bed higher = more storeage.
Get cheap wall cabinets & install high on wall.
Maybe you can store away some of your out of season clothing. For example, right now, pack away your sweaters, long sleeve shirts, wool pants. Whatever you store away make sure to pack it up carefully. You can store this stuff under your bed.
You could try a space bag like they advertise on TV. You put your stuff in, and vacuum out the air. I bout one, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.
i have seen these joy mangano 'huggable hangers' for the longest and didnt believe they where any good till one day, i saw an infomercial and decided to try them. i used to have very thich white plastic hangers. according to joy, tose hangers take up so much space, you cant fit much clothes in your closet. i didnt believe it but i ordered a set on hsn.com and ITS TRUE !
i must have at least three times the stuff in my closet now because the hangers are WAY skinny (but very strong). they also have some shoe organizers that hang up and help keep the dust off. check them out.
buy a bed with storage drawers underneath it in addition to where you already put your clothes. those beds are really nice and offer alot of space.also get some shelves in your room so you can put junk on the shelves and have more space to store your clothes. you can buy "space bags" or just make your own by putting your clothes in bags and vacuuming all the air out of them, which compacts the clothes aaaallloooootttttt. good luck!
Get those storage bags where you suck all the air out of them after you pack your clothes in them. Also you see these hangar systems on QVC and/or Home Shopping Network that will help fit more clothes in your closet. Or closet organizer systems-you can get at Home Depot or similar stores.
have you seen those hangers that have a hook on top ( that u hang on your bar like a normal hanger, but then it also longways has additional holes that you can hang other clothes down. It takes up the same amount of space as just one hanger, but since the clothes are hung down the main hanger, you have much more space. It is hard to explain on here but they are available on like qvc and i am sure any home store like function junction, etc..hope this helps.
When we moved into an RV full time, I had a closet that was 6" wide for all my tops/shirts. You do what you have to do. Those vacuum bags are great for out of season clothes. Are you fully using the space under the bed? Can you build your bed up so there is even more room for boxes under there? That is the biggest wasted space ina bedroom.
1) stop buying new stuff AND
2) eliminate some old stuff OR
3) buy storage elements OR
4) move.
Sorry you don't want to hear the truth, but that is it. Your stress is caused by having too much stuff you can't let go of. Let go of some of it and you will feel better.
Get flat totes that you can store under your bed. Taller storage containers can fit in your closet up to where your shirts are hanging. Shoes can be put in a shoe hanger inside your closet door or under the foot of your bed. Get a hope chest to also place at the end of your bed and put clothes in there, also makes a good seat. If you really need space you can neatly fold some of your clothes and put a layer between your matteress.
through-out the time of raising 5 children i have always used the under side of the mattress to store clothing, not in season.this is also a good way to store blankets when not in use. the only trick is to make sure the items are folded flat and the space is evenly used so as to not create any "hills" or uncomfortable lumps.I don't know why, but she always covered these stored items w/ a sheet or light blanket. My German Grandmother taught me this and what a wonderful space saver it is!
Bleah is good try comet clenser
get rid of some clothes
