If they aren't serious scratches, a little FINE abrasive cleanser and go with the grain. If they're more than serious, a medium fine carbon-grit sand paper (still going with the grain) and work it to just past the edges of the scratches. Then down to an X-tra fine grit carbon paper and blend it well. Finish off the entire surface with a stainless steel polish like Sheila Shine over the entire surface. There are other products that will do the trick but that's the one I have to use at work. Stainless steel is a major pain to keep looking good, that's for sure. My boss regrets ever having gone that route and she's not the one doing the work.
Use a buffing compound and an electric buffer.
000 or 0000 steel wool with MA AS polishing cream (home depot.)hope their not real deep
You can do this for you faucet too! All you doo is mix Baking soda and soap and the stainless steel becomes shiny again. Just wipe with a sponge with the green top to scour.
I would go to wal mart in the cleaning ails and they have a product (that I can't remember the name of now) that you can use to get scratches off of stainless steel. Good luck.
I have a stainless gas cook top that I accidentally scratched while moving the big burner grids. I contacted the manufacturer of my cooktop and they were able to advise me of the best thing to use. Actually, they told me there is not really any way to get the scratches out but offered some cleaning suggestions. Don't use abrasives but Wolf recommended I could try Bar Keepers Friend safely on my cooktop and it did help but the scratches I have are deeper than the Bar Keepers Friend would take care of and I listened to the manufacturer because I'd rather have what I have and not risk making a bad thing worse. Listen to what your stove manufacturer says. They know the best.
see why I dont buy stainless stain.
