Cleaning sheets?
Question:I got some rectal juices on my sheets last night (don't ask how). I sprayed the area with plenty of lysol right after and washed them twice today. the first time was with 3x the usual amount of detergent, the second was was with about 2x the usual amount. Both washes were in hot water. Are the sheets clean to be used again?
Answers:
Yes. As long as the water was hot enough and depending on what you're trying to kill. If you're concerned that your hotwater feed isn't that hot and you don't want to bleach the sheets, then boil the sheets on the stove on a large pot (that you won't want to cook pasta in right away, though if you run that pot through the dishwasher, it'll be all good).
OR buy new sheets.
How.?
I would just buy new ones.
I think after all that washing, they're clean!
However, bleach kills the germs best.
Try using some vinegar and baking soda in the wash and vinegar in the rinse, then run through again with regular detergent and liquid softner.
Yes. Should be. What I would have done was poured full strength liquid laundry detergent on spot(s) and brushed them into fabric, let them sit for 5-10 minutes then wash in normal amount of laundry detergent and bleach in hot wash.
If not sure, times I had pet accident, etc... I did a wash with a little liquid Spi c 'n Span or perhaps Simple Green with 2 rinses prior to drying.
If the sheets are white BLEACH them if they aren't use color safe BLEACH !! Chlorine kills everything! I would bleach them even if they were colored..
