How Do I ues Fabric Softner?
Question:Alright i used dryer sheets now i want to ues the liquid stuff how do i use it.
Answers:
Your washing machine may have a little reservoir somewhere to pour the fabric softener. If so, you just measure it out and pour it in before you start your wash. The machine will automatically dispense it in the rinse cycle (which is when it is supposed to go in).
If your washer doesn't have that, you have two options I know of. One is to use a Downy Ball. It's a baseball-sized thingy they sell near the fabric softeners. You measure your fabric softener into the ball, and the spin cycle causes it to come open, releasing the fabric softener into the load at the right time.
The last option is to stand there and wait for the rinse cycle! Not too convenient, but it'll get the job done if you happen to be nearby while the wash is going. Just open the machine and pour the measured amount of fabric softener in during the last rinse cycle.
I think you'll really like liquid fabric softener. It yields significantly softer laundry, and the smell lasts longer!
Below is a link for the Downy Ball. They sell it at stores like WalMart and Target, and probably at the grocery store too. I believe it costs between $5.00 and $10.00, but it will last for years! Good luck!
I don't know.
All I know is PLEASE don't use it on your towels. You will never be able to dry yourself. My grandma does and I have to sneek my own towels into her house so I can actually dry my body to put clothes on.
Well after putting in the clothes there should be a spot to pour the fabric softener most washing machines say FABRIC SOFTENER and you just measure it from the lid like you do the laundry detergent and presto. After just dry them in the laundry without a sheet. :]
hopes this helps
fabric softner is used in the washing machine when you wash items. It goes in the hole in the middle of the mixer spinner thingy in the middle, or in a little space on the side where it's marked.
Uh.like the instructions are on the bottle.
Typically, you add it to the rinse cycle in the washing machine. When your washer refills for the rinse, pour a measured amount, about a cap or half a cap full...according to instructions on the bottle for your size of wash load. Don't put liquid softener directly on clothes... some of it can stain. But its ok if you put it into the water just before the rinse cycle starts. After the washer has finished rinsing, and spin dry... put your laundry in the dryer. No need to add a dryer sheet.
Traditionally you have to listen or watch your washer and wait for the "rinse" cycle. Then you just pour it into the rinse water as it's filling. Be careful not to pour directly onto your clothes, it can stain. If you don't have that kind of time (who does?), you can make a small (like $3) investment in a Downey Ball. I use this wonderful device that I just fill to the little line and drop in the washer at the beginning. The centrifugal force of the spin cycle opens the ball and the liquid softener comes out as the rinse water fills. Great invention!
I pour the liquid stuff right into the washer. It works!
Actually directions are given on the bottle of fabric softner, but a capful is all that is really needed, or if you want you can get really clean smelling clothes if you just use a half cup of White Vinegar to your rinse water or just fill your fabric softner dispenser with white vinegar, it will soften your clothes and will not leave that perfumey smell on your clothes, your clothes will be white and clean smelling also good for colors and will also remove stains if you use one cup of White Vinegar without using detergent. Good Luck !
Fabric softeners come in two different forms and are designed to reduce wrinkling, drying times, and static cling. Fabric softeners also make clothing fluffy and soft.
Dryer sheets are used in the drying cycle with your clothing.
Liquid fabric softeners are added to the final rinse of a washing cycle.
-------------------------when and how to use fabric softener--------
Fabric softener should only be used with standard fabrics. Fine washables such as linen or silk should not have any kind of fabric softeners used on them, if they are machine washable. The chemicals can destroy the look and feel of a fabric like linen, and dull colors in silk. However, most standard cotton and polyester blends are safe with the use of fabric softener. Dryer sheets are a blessing for socks and towels, since these items seem to be most susceptible to static cling. Liquid fabric softener can also usually be diluted to one-fourth strength in order make it last. There is usually no discernible loss of softness or increase in static cling when the softener is diluted.
Fabric softeners can reduce flame retardance on flame retardant clothing, absorbency on cotton towels, and the performance of active wear.
Follow directions on the bottle
