Do I have a roach problem?
Question:I was washing my hands in the bathroom sink when I noticed a big huge brown roach with big long antenas slowly crawling out of the soapsuds.
My house is fairly tidy, or about as tidy as a college kid can make it. There is no food lying around, everything is generaly put away in the correct spot but not clean, counters are sometimes sticky, there are crumbs, and dust.
Yet this is the one and only roach I've found in my apartment, (though it was huge!) and it seemed to be comming out of the drain, unless it was already there, and I hadn't seen it.
So do i have a roach problem?
Answers:
na sometimes they get lost in the pipes and crawl out the drain. If its just one its no big deal. put down a sticky trap and see if u catch any if not ur good. I always find big hairy spiders in the bathtub. lol good luck.
yes carefully mix a little boric acid with some jelly and put it under an appliance or dresser a pet can't reach.Don't get it in your food or drink.
Yes as a matter of fact you do, once one roach enters many others follow and you must be clean as well as tidy, being clean will prevent roaches from entering, don't leave any food out or leave any crumbs laying around no sticky counters, dust will not make roaches invade your home, if you would like to rid your roach problem, just use this method to kill the roaches, use Boric acid and bait it with some sugar pour this mixture into a jar top and place in corners of room where roaches have been seen entering also place these baits around the kitchen in corners and on top of counters, be sure not to leave this where pets can get to it as it can make them sick also place behind the oven and in your cupboards and worn people that there is boric acid in your cupboards if you have roommates, the boric acid will dry out the roaches so they can be easily discarded. And you should sprinkle your furniture with baking soda on all cushions and under cushions to dry up and kill any eggs from the roaches, all roaches leave eggs and they lay hundreds and those eggs can hatch if not eradicated quickly, you must then do a thorough vacuuming up of these eggs the next morning or day. Good Luck !
It could have come from another apartment. They travel very well thru the walls.
Also, they can come in grocery bags from potatoes and such.
Put a roach trap out. If it continues call your landlord. I would call him anyway as there are roaches! and are coming from somewhere
