How do i get ground in grease & grime off a rayburn cooker?
Question:the black enamel on the top of the rayburn is heavy with ground in grease,i,ve tried the recommended astonish paste, and also a hand held steamer, but it,s so hard to get off.does anybody have a tried & tested answer. thanks
Answers:
Make a paste with white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. Cover liberally and leave overnight. Next day use some hot water to wash off and if it still hasn't taken it all off reapply. That's my tried and trusted method. My mate however swears that Flash power spray (advertised by Ainsley Harriot) is just as good. Mine is cheaper though!
Use warm vinegar and water.
try a oven cleaner
Easy Off oven cleaner
Zevvie1's answer is fab, I'd try that, but if you want an actual pre-made cleaner, you can't beat Cif (Lemon) Cream for removing things from ovens.
Use a dilute solution of the green hand cleanser that motor mechanics use (e.g. Swarfega).
In was given this information from a guy who worked in an industrial cleaning firm concerning catering equipment. PAINT REMOVER it has no effect on the enamel as used on cookers.
