Frame it under glass
Ok alphafemale..beat me by 10 seconds .but I added the glass part..lol
Frame it.
Try soaking the shirt in vinegar. It's supposed to set the dyes to prevent fading so maybe it will work for permanent marker too. Another way to prevent it from fading is not wearing it so you dont have to wash it!
I've seen a lot of people frame signed t-shirts. If you take it somewhere to get it framed, they can set you up with UV-protecting glass, to keep the sunlight from fading it.
Never wear the t-shirt. Put it in a glass frame and keep it in a dark room.
And whatever you do NEVER wash it.
Make sure you take some pictures of it and then get it heavily insured.
If you absolutely want to wear it, make sure that when you wash it, you do it by hand with one of those super-gentle solutions (like woolite) and that you wash it inside out.
My answer would be to just keep it as a keepsake and not wear it.
If you find you must wear it, take it off as soon as possible and don't wash it until you really need to. If you must wash it, I would hand wash it and use some product that says colorfast or colorstay on it. Also, turn the shirt inside out to wash...always.
Store it in a cool dry area.
Keep it away from sunlight and plastic. Plastic is very acidic and can actually make material break apart over time
You want to avoid ever having to wash it but if you ever have to
Gently HAND WASH ONLY If you ever need to clean it just let it sit in a solution of oxi cleaner and cold water for about a day, adding a little vinegar to the solution will keep the colors from fading
Warm or hot water may make the colors fade and could shrink your garment.
Do not put it in in the washing machine ever.
Keep it away from bleach at all costs.
I do a lot of vintage doll clothing restoration and these are the basic tricks of the trade.
I hope this helps.
Don't wear it
