I'm a messy clean freak, is that normal?
Question:My house is always cluttered. I tend to forget to put things away and i get lazy about it, But my kitchen is always clean as well as my bathroom because i Hate germs and i am a total clean freak when it comes to sticky counter tops or dirty bathrooms, anywhere that germs usually grow. I dont mind having clutter on my counter tops but i have to make sure that they are all cleaned with cleaner. I just wondered if anyone else out there is like that?

YES!! I am also a messy clean freak! There is a difference between being cluttered and being dirty. I make sure that my house is always clean--but it is rarely put away. I am too busy to do it. I have a three year old son, a husband, a business and could care less if my house is picked up. By the way, I know some COMPLETE clean freaks that always get sick, so a little bit of dirt will not hurt you!

I think you have a pet peeve about germs, b/c we are taught by tv commercial that they reside in the bathroom or kitchen. Where as a living room or bedroom magically dosnt carry germs.
At least you don't start mopping and vacuuming the floors while the party at your house is still going strong.

that rings a bell for me. i'm a total 'pile person,' but i get really upset with myself/my boyfriend (unfortunately for him) when the kitchen and bathroom are messy. i don't mind STUFF- it's the sticky/crumby/soapy buildups that get me. then i get spastic and try to clean EVERYTHING at once, which rarely works out well because of the fact that i'm a pile person.but, no, you are not alone in that tendency. i actually think it's sort of an escapist symptom of having clutter- maybe the need to cleanse and purge without dealing with the clutter.
