How do I clean soap out of the Jet Dry reservoir?
Question:My first time using the dishwasher I put Cascade liquid in the jet dry resevoir. It's good for 40 washes; I've tried running a few wash cycles, rinsing by hand and using q-tips to clean it out. I still have soap coming out. Any ideas besides running 40 washes?
Answers:
Vinegar... Put a capful of vinegar in it and run the idshwasher. This will break down the soap and clean the lines as well. If you use the apple vinegar it does not smell as bad. Once you do this run the dishwasher two more times to clear out the smell.
This works great in coffee machines too.
I think you should use some clean water.simple
Remove the jet dry cap. Run the the dishwasher without the cap on. You may need to do this several times.
Use cold water cycles. Cold water rinses soap better than hot.
What I do is I boil water and pour it in the container and let it stay there for a few minutes. Then I use a toothbrush and scrub it for a little bit then I rinse it again with hot water.
This works wonders and you may have to repeat this process 2 or 3 times. At least this way you're not wasting gallons of water.
I usually do this right after a wash and I do not wait for it to accumulate or get hard and dry.
Doesn't it suck? lol
that's why I switched to the liquid detergents...
Goodluck!
Use the steamer thingy.
or soak in hot water.
better yet. stop using the washer. LOL
