Can you use kilz to rid pet odors?

Question:Can you use kilz to remove pet urine odors from mobile home subflooring before putting down new flooring?

Answers:
Sure worth a try. When we bought our home, the smell from the old animals was horrible. They must have peed and pooped everywhere. ICK. Anyway, we tore up all the old carpeting and pads, washed the floorboards and used kilz, and once we re-carpeted, everything was fine. Good luck.

Yes, as long as it is the oil base. It seals out the odors. My sister-in-law bought a house that was drenched in cat urine carpet and they rolled the kilz on , after they let the floor dry for a day with fans blowing and windows open and then put new carpeting on. You also need to make sure to do the walls, because sometimes the odor absorbs into them and if it was cats they spray the walls and so on.

Best of luck, it will take a lot of elbow grease and time, but you will be much happier
