My puppy peed on my brand new, pillow top mattress and the smell sunk right in. How do I clean it?
Question:I don't know how to really get in there and clean it, since it sunk it...
Answers:
Go to the pet store and get a carpet cleaning product that breaks down the enzymes and follow the directions. Then put fans on it to dry and you may need to let it air out for a couple of days (don't make the bed). Once it is dry sprinkle some baking soda on it and let sit for 30 min. then vacuum it up. You could also spray some fresh step or febreeze. If you have access to a shop vac and the spot is still fresh try to get it sucked up as much as possible, but you need to get the enzyme cleaner on ASAP!
I don't think you can.....sorry.
Go to the pet store and get the enzymatic cleaner and just dump it on. It will counteract the urine and usually needs to be put on and allowed to dry naturally, so if you let it sink like the urine did it should reverse it.
alot of fabreeze? or those carpet cleaners have little side ones for smaller areas maybe you could use that.
I would take it to the dry cleaners and explain about the puppy urine. Ask if they can get the smell out... without making it smell like dry cleaning fluid...which is almost as bad.
i think ammonia would work.
You need a carpet extractor to put water in with a detergent and then suck everything back out. The same thing happened to me. Its fine now.
I would spay it with disinfectant for germs. Then clean it with any mild soap and hot water. Then I would put Baking Soda on it to absorb the odors.
I don't think it's possible to clean your mattress because of it being a pillow top. I have found in the past, that once pet urine stains sink into fabrics, removing the odor/stains for good is next to impossible.
1. dont let your dog on your new mattress!
2. get a new mattress
sorry but it will be really gross and dirty if you dont replace it
