How to get permanent marker stains out of carpet?

Question:Is it possible or should I just buy a rug to cover it up?

Answers:
You can give this a try, it works with some marker stains:

Dampen a clean or new sponge with rubbing alcohol and use a blotting motion on the spots. Change areas of the sponge often, like switching sides and turning it over. When it's faded about as much as you can get off, depending on the color of the marker, finish up with a good carpet spot treatment such as Spot Shot following the manufacturer directions. Good luck!

You can try. I would call a carpet cleaning company in your area. Many of them sell products for that type of thing. I use Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner on my carpet, believe it or not, and it even gets up red stains. I just spray it on the stain, wait for the foam to subside, then scrub. Good luck!
