I don't have a feather duster...?
Question:is there anything that is common around most houses that i could use to do the same thing. i can't make it to the store to get a duster so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas. something that i could use on top of my entertainment center where my nicknacks are and other things of that nature.
Answers:
Take an old stick (or a chop stick) and an old pair of nylons...cut the nylons into long strips and tie to the stick, real close together, and wa-la!
You can do the same thing with old socks or an old tee shirt.
You could use some clean old tube socks. You will have to take your nick-nacks down and wipe them off though. And turn the sock inside out when you do it.
I use a blow dryer to dust off shelves before I polish..hope this helps!
Most vaccums have a brush attachment that would be good for the nooks and crannys in your nick nacks. For the flat surfaces just use an old tee shirt or washcloth.
try using a sock by putting your hand into it also for glass u can spray window cleaner on it and wash what nots that way
I just use a dish rag that is a little moist.
i always use either the small round brush attachment thing on the vacuum cleaner or a very very damp cloth, either are fine!
have fun cleaning!!
Feather dusters only move the dust from one place to the other. Try looking for a duster wipes called Spontex dusters. They are the best little duster wipes ever, I dust 1 day , then don´t dust for the next 3 day´s. Saves a great deal of time . These little dusters have something that stops the dust settling back again.
i use my girlfriends t shirt after i take it off!
put a sock on a hanger works great
You can use an old terry cloth towel that is slighly damp. This will be more effective at cleaning the dust than a feather duster which just moves the dust another place. I LOVE the swifter dusters. They really pick up dust well but if I have to improvise, I use the terry cloth towel.
