How to clean a large patch of coffee stain off the office carpet without removing it?
Question:Dropped some coffee and attracted some ants on the carpet next to my table. MY boss is pretty pissed off with me. Anything in the supermarket is available for removing the stain and smell off the carpet?

It may be hard to do in the office, but if you use boiling water and pour it on the stain (blot it with a rag). Repeat until it is gone.
yes i have great news for you, and i have done this myself,
409 all purpose cleaner
the stuff actually melts coffee away, whether its in carpet or burned in the coffee pot,
well i used the word melts, maybe i should say, it breaks down coffee really well,
409 is great on removing all sorts of stains, i have used it for years, and it don't smell as bad as some cleaners,
and you can buy it in almost all stores, and its not expensive,

i haven't found anything through the years that works near as good,
just spray it on soaking the area , but not sopping wet, its not necessary to get it that wet, then get a carpet cleaning machine and just use straight warm water for rinsing, you don't need any other soaps / shampoo's ,
oh by now the area is probably dried out, so you may have to use a scrub brush to make sure the 409 gets deep enough , cause the coffee would have soaked down to the flooring also the padding under the carpet if it has it,
if you don't get enough 409 into it, or if you don't rinse well, you may have it sponging back up if there is padding, so a second cleaning would be needed,
but if you take a bit of time, and do a good thorough cleaning when you first start, all should be great,,

I would scrub some SHOUT gel on it, let it set for 10 minutes then finish off by a scrubbing it with hot water and a cloth
