Tea pitcher!!?
Question:My tea pitcher is so funky and stained. With out bleach what else will clean the old tea out of my tea pitcher? And tea pot?
Answers:
straight lemon juice, ice and a little salt.
I run mine through the dishwasher once in awhile. It gets all the stains out..=)
My mom always uses bleach in hers. You want a different option, I used to work at a restaurant where we cleaned the coffee pots with Ice, salt, and lemon juice. I use that for both my tea and coffee pot. Simply add lots of ice, salt, and lemon juice, and vigorously shake. Let it sit for a bit. Bleach worked best, but this is a good alternative.
Cream of tartar (find it with spices at the grocery store).
Just mix a Tablespoon of it with hot water and swish it around in your tea pot. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly. If your pot is really badly stained you may have to repeat the process.
Run it through the dishwasher, most detergents have a solution that will bleach out the stains and odors.
I just put cheap old baking soda inside mine and rub it with a sponge. Takes it all right out, no using stinky bleach.
Try some baking soda.
i don't understand the reluctance toward the use of bleach.
put about 1 tablespoon of bleach into the pot fill with cool water / not hot . allow to stand for about 1 hour use a bottle brush and rinse in cool then hot water the smell will evaporate as the tea pot air dries.
this is fast, complete, and thrifty.
.
Fill it with hot water and drop a denture cleaning tablet in it. Works every time.
