Kenmore Whashers and Dryers?

Question:When did Kenmore washers and dryers start going down in quality? Is a 6 yr old Kenmore washer and dryer paid comparable to a similar model from Maytag or Roper?

Answers:
Check Consumer Reports- issues thsi year have checked quality, servicing etc of appliances. Roper has less service calls about 6% have been repaired -I don't know if that means they are better quality or if they are so inexpensive people don't bother to repair. Maytag has more of a repair history.
