I accidently washed my merino wool jumper in the wasing machine when it was supposed to be handwashed now it..

If it's smaller than it used to be, it probably felted during the time in the washing machine. There's no way to recover a felted garment, but you can salvage something by making it into a tote bag (cut the handles out of the yoke area) or making pot holders out of it. A lot of crafters buy wool sweaters at second hand stores or garage sales to make into felted bags.
use fairy fabric softener
Do some heavy duty fabric softening, not in the wasther though, use the dryer things with no heat.
