Best cheap way to clean a computer keyboard?

Question:

Answers:
You can use a can of compressed air and then a damp wash cloth or a baby wipe or something to wipe it down.

You can turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to get the stuff out.

If you have time on your hands, you can use a couple of q-tips to clean in between the keys.

get a can of compressed air (sold anywhere, Target, Walmart, etc) and blow it through the keys.
use a brush... or use contact cleaner...
You could always dump it upside down and smack it a few times... but the best way is those cheap cans of air...
Use Tide disenfectent wipes- they really work!
Run it through the dishwasher.
Frankly I think turning it over and tapping it gets most of the stuff out. I clean the keytops with a paper towel on which I have sprayed Windex. Not wet - just moist enough to get the crude off.
swiffers work the best
Can of air you can get at any office supply store.
lightly wipe it clean with a damp cloth for fingerprints and other stuff on top of the keys

or if you want to get in between the keys you use compressed air
Either use a vacuum with a small brush attachment or you can buy a can of compressed air (any electronics/gaming store/office supply store) and spray it in to remove dust.
If you have the time. take a photo of the keyboard and print it out. then take it appart and clean each part and put it back together. i have dont this a few times for people that could not afford a new one.
NPR had a report 2-3 weeks ago that you can put the keyboard in the dishwasher. Google "keyboard dishwasher" and several sites with advice and comments will come up. Supposed to work very well, especially if you let it air dry thoroughly
Unplug it, turn it upside down over a trash can and lightly shake out dirt and dust.
Clean the keys with a cloth lightly dampened wth rubbing alcohol.
Run a fabric softener sheet over the keys to cut down on dust-attracting static.

Try it. It works.
If is a laptop take a handheld vacum and vacum it out if laptop adn drink spilled then flip over and let dry for bout 5 to 10 hors depending on how much drink was spilt if desktop keybourd just shake it or use vacum if drink and desktop keybord then flip over and dry for bout 5 to 15 hrs. depending on situion
I know this. Saw this on TV last week.

First, turn the keyboard over and gently shake it. This gets out stuck particles - like crumbs and pet hair.

Next, dip a clean white cloth in warm water than wring it out as best as you can. You only want it slightly damp. (Make sure the computer's off before you do this.)

Give the keyboard a good wipe, getting in between the keys as best as you can. Then use cotton swabs in between the keys to get what the cloth left.

Finally, dry well with a clean, soft cloth.
Some keyboards you can pop off the individual keys and wipe down underneath with a swiffer-like cloth or reusable keyboard brush or mini vacuum. Just be careful with the space bar and return keys, I tend to just leave them there. Remember to do this while the computer is off or the keyboard is unplugged.

You can prevent the problem by getting a keyboard cover which are simple to wipe down.
Keep hands clean before using, no eating @ computer, keep kids away. If you have to clean moist soft cloth. Cheaper than keyboard cleaner.
A relatively cheap way of cleaning a computer keyboard is finding a coworkers, who has one similar to yours, and swapping it out.
Nail polish remover takes away all grime, and us girls always have some handy :-)
use canned air and an old paint brush,,,,works great
