Blue stains with Tide detergent?

Question:I've used Tide detergent for years, but lately we have noticed that we are getting random blue stains on our clothing that don't wash out. Its incredibly frustrating and we are wondering if its the Tide causing the stains since the detergent is blue and we can't find any other cause. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what did you do? Thanks.

Answers:
Hi!
Like you I have used Tide for years as well but I don't have this problem.
So I can't quite answer your question, but I can offer some suggestions.
1.) Add your Tide (liquid version) at the beginning of your wash, let the water dilute the soap before you add the clothes to the washer.
2.) If you use the powder version of Tide, stop!! The powder gets clogged and this could be why you have these stains.
3.) If you use fabric softener make sure you dilute it as well.

I hope you do figure out what is causing this for you, and I hope I helped a bit. Good luck and best wishes.

I've experienced this too. I always dilute the detergent in the water before I add clothes, but maybe some plashes up on the washer wall. I don't use fabric softner, so it has to be the Tide. The stains have always come out in the next wash. Are you using the newer formulas with Febreeze or Downy in them? Maybe one of those is doing it. I never paid much attention to which one was leaving the stains since they always come out. I got a front loader and have been using HE Tide and haven't noticed the blue spots.
