Laundry...?

Question:Long story short...washer just broke, going to hand wash some of my laundry. Question: can I use powder detergent to hand wash instead of Woolite or Zero (don't have any)? and none of it is delicates.

Answers:
Yes, but it will be a little harsh on your hands. So, wear rubber gloves if you have some. Just scrub the clothes like they do in the movies. Be sure you rinse thoroughly.

Yes, you can use the powdered detergent, just don't use too much & rinse the clothes really well. If you have a dryer, use dryer sheets too.
Yes, make certain it is fully dissolved in the water first before adding garments. And to thoroughly remove the detergent, use a little white vinegar to soak the garments before rinsing. It will fully remove all detergent residue which can cause stains by attracting dirt.
yes you can but my only suggestion is that if you are doing a cold wash sometimes the powder won't dissolve and it sticks to your clothing, so put it in a cup and mix it with hot water til it dissolves and then add it to your cold water. Also if you aren't wearing gloves moisturize your hands when you finish.
OMG, I really feel bad for you because I went through this a long time ago when my son was in diapers ~ cloth diapers! You can use the powder detergent, but try to dissolve it in warm water first. It will be harsh on your hands so do wear gloves. Be sure to really rinse the clothes out well, very important because the soap residue can damage the fibers and irritate your skin. Some fabrics shouldn't be wrung out tightly so gently squeeze out excess water and then lie it between thick towels and roll it up tightly to absorb the water. You can also use a little bit of shampoo for washing your delicates, it foams a lot so just a dab per item.

When I was doing all those cloth diapers, I put a few in a large bucket and used a clean toilet plunger and just kept mashing them and stirring them, but I had a bit of bleach added to that water!

I hope you get your machine repaired soon!
Yes. Wear protective gloves or you will need to apply a thick coat of hand lotion after you are finished. The laundry soap will dry out your hands.
