Cleaning gas stove elements?

Question:I just moved and the elements of my gas stove probably haven't been cleaned in years. The elements themselves aren't clogged, there's just grease, etc. caked around them. Does anyone have suggestions on what I can use to clean them?

Answers:
Fill the sink with Dawn dishsoap and water. Use a sponge to lightly wipe the stove elements. Do not submerge them in the water. Then rinse the sponge with water, go over the elements lightly with the sponge and then dry them with a towel.

ajax or borax or even baking soda and a metal scouring thingie besure to rinse and dry them out before returning them to the stove. HTH
spray with oven cleaner put in garbage bag and put outside for a few hours then hose off
