Blood stain on my pillow...?

Question:I get nosebleeds a lot and I must've gotten one while I was sleeping. It got on the actual pillow, not the pillow case. I'm a teenage boy and it was late so I felt too lazy to put on the pillow case and just laid down on the bare pillow. So anyways... you can't put a pillow through a washing machine right? I didn't wanna do that. I sprayed it with Shout and I'm about to rub it with some cold soapy water. What else can I do?

Answers:
you can put hydrogen peroxide or bleach--if it is just a regular pillow you can put it in the washer, it works better if you wash two pillows to balance the load-one on each side of washer.

I wash pillows all the time. If it is one of the cheap molded foamy ones, it may lose it's shape, but generally they do fine on gentle wash and dry.
You can actually wash the pillow, try a permanent press cycle. Basically something between really delicate, like hand washable items, and regular cleaning. You can add Spray & Wash Pink into the washer, or something similar. Open the washer lid and read what it says. All washers have stain removal guides on the inside of the lid, look for blood.

Hope this helps!
Use hydrogen peroxide. Pour a few drops directly on the stain. When it finishes bubbling, ad a few more drops and rub it in. Most blood stains will come out in the wash after that. If not, then repeat.
Hydrogen Proxide will take the blood out of your pillow. It will take it out even if it's old blood.
Use hydrogen peroxide. Put some on it, let it sit for a few minutes or more, then rinse. May wash the item after wards. I am a nurse who learned this from my mother, who was a nurse. Good luck!
Just cold water soak. I feel for you...I had this problem, years ago. Got so fed up (was 17 at the time) that instead of the 'normal drill' head forward, block nose, ... I made sure my bed was ready to fall into, (was living away from home at the time) hung my head over a basin, and let it bleed till it stopped. Eventually, it did, I felt weak as a kitten, went to bed. end of problem, no more nosebleeds. I dont know if this will work for you.
I agree with the second answer hydrogen peroxide. My husband is a RN. He use this product on his nurses scrubs for blood stains.
