How can I clean an oven inside without using the chemicals?
Question:Don't say fume free easy off. I don't need any chemicals spilling into my food the next time I use my oven. I was thinking baking soda and water and letting it set. Whats your thoughts of cleaning the inside of oven without getting toxic fumes from chemicals?
Answers:
S.O.S pads and LOTS of elbow grease.
Baking soda and vinegar
well most ovens have self cleaning system in which it just burns everything to ashes and after cooling, it can be wiped clean with a paper wet towel. If not, you can try pouring vinegar all over the inside, then sprinkle baking soda, the reaction between the two should loosen up all the crusty stuff
one part water and two parts vinegar
If its really dirty, use SOS pads to get all the gunk off the inside and the door. Then you can rinse with baking soda of 1/2 cup of vinegar and 4 cups of water
I know that you mentionned not wanting the toxic fumes, however I have used household amonia, ( just a few tablespoons ) in a pan of water, and just let it set in the oven over night. The fumes from the amonia, soften all of the gunk in the oven as it sits over night, ( you dont need to use any heat with this from your oven by the way ) and are easily removed with the "gunk" from the oven, the next day when you wipe it out to clean. They dont remain behind on the surface or add to the taste of you food once the "fumes' have softenned the gunk it wipes out with it, but you do have to remove all the gunk in the oven as the fumes are in the gunky stuff your cleaning out , other wise I agree with the other posts here, its the vinegar and the sos pads ~
