There is this white crusty buildup on my shower doors and it doesn't come off. Is there anything to remove it?

Question:Its on the outside of the shower doors where the rubber seal goes around the frame. Its also around the sliding track that holds the doors. I've tried the bleach/water trick and it didn't even do anything. I even tried brushing it with a stiff brush and no luck. Is there a solution that works on this stuff?

Answers:
It is from the chemicals in the water Try CLR it works on stuff like that

From what it sounds like, you've got a case of hard water/calcium deposits building up...Try the cleaner CLR, you can find it at walmart. Might want to dillute it first, check the back of the bottle:) Hope that helps!
Here is what I'd do- I'd first try cleaning it with lyme away and if that didn't work I'd use CLR. As a last resort I keep a straight razor on hand for problems like this. I cleaned for the military and I used a razor on alot of things. If you can't get it off with cleaners or your nail I use a straight razor. (If It looks like can come off)
calcium build up try clr.
Yeah, try a calcium/lime/rust remover. That is calcium build-up from hard water most likely. And unless you use a calcium remover it will be very hard to come off. If you took off your shower head or faucet screens I imagine you'd see a lot of white stuff on them as well. CLR might work, but I like Lime-Away. The watery calcium removers don't work well. The ones that have more the consistency of dish soap (thicker fluid) tend to work better.

I even use Lime-Away on my glasses to get that white powder out of the bottom when you've let the water sit in it for too long and hou have hard water. As long as you rinse the cup and clean it good afterwards it works fine.

You might also see about getting a water softener. That is another way you could get rid of it so you don't have to clean the calcium build up off any longer.
try CLR or Lime Away
After you finally get it cleaned off... apply a thin coat of liquid turtle wax to prevent it happening again
Corn Starch mixed with water to form a paste, rub on door, gently scrub, then use a clean damp rag to wipe off the paste and then a third clean rag to polish, or try vinegar - both cheap and non damaging to the environment.
use lemon oil
try a lime scale remover like C.L.R.
