How do you remove soda-pop stain on the carpeted roof of the car?

Question:Hi, my cans of pop (coca-cola) exploded in my car due to excessive heat, and left the entire carpeted roof of my car stained in pop. It's been over a year, and I haven't cleaned it since the pop explosion because I've been too lazy. How do I clean it now? What's a good stain remover.especially for stain that's been there for over a year?

Answers:
Go get the oxyclean spray bottle meant for laundry stains. If that won't do it, nothing will.

sponge a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water onto the stain wait a couple minutes and blot with paper towels, if this dose`nt remove the stain the first time repeat ,until gone.
I had a similar situation where soda had been spilled on the seats of a car I acquired, and I used boat cleaner, similar to OxyClean (a powder) mixed with warm water and gently rubbed with a soft cloth in all directions to get all sides of the fibers. There were a few I had to hit twice, but then I couldn't tell it had ever been stained. Good luck!
Cola really doesn't stain that much. its the corn syrup that has kept it there for so long. Try using a wet steam cleaner and it will come out pretty easily. Beware of using bleach products unless you like a bigger, more permanent stain of sorts.
