Bleach in laundry. Yes or no?

Question:what are the benifits of bleach and what is the downside.

Answers:
Using bleach on 100% white cotton great if used in moderation and not every wash. But do not use it on fabrics that contain polyester and other unnatural fibers. That is what cause the holes. Also, never mix it with ammonia, that is very risky and causes health problems. When I want extremely white clothes, I get a big pot, add water and Miracle White. Then let it dissolve and then add my items like socks, dishcloths, hand towels regardless if they are all cotton or half and half. I then let the water come to a boil, turn off the heat and let it sit until it is cool enough to handle (you can leave it that way indefinitely). Then wash as normal without any bleach. Sparkling whites, no fail technique.

If you are washing whites - check the tag first, but you should be able to add 1/2 cup of bleach. It will clean, whiten and disinfect all it washes. Often works best with towels, socks, undies, etc.
Be careful to pour the bleach directly into the water. Wait a moment and then add the clothes.
There is also a 'bleach alternative' that does a satisfactory job.
it`s use in moderation is great but, it can ruin clothes if your not careful
Yes how will you wash your white clothes
as far as i know its used to make whites whiter, and disadvantage is eventually it eats holes in the clothes after many uses. i for use detergent with no bleach and use just plain detergent because i had used the kind with added bleach to it and it discolored my clothes.
i can completely ruin your clothes, or it can make them look perfectly white, it depends on how much you use.
I don“t think there are any benefits using bleach. It only eats away at your clothing. burns the fibers. Also using it will turn your clothes yellow & gray after a while. For white clothes , hang them outside in the sun, the sun will bleach any stains out the natural way and leave your clothes whiter than white
Bleach is a good disinfectant for cleaning cloth baby diapers, but it will wreak havoc on a septic system, killing the bacteria that break down the sewage.

It's also not good if it gets into groundwater, as it can kill fish and other aquatic critters if it makes it into a pond or lake.
Very seldom is there an advantage to using bleach in the laundry. The only thing I use it for is my kitchen towels and dishcloths. It will eat hole in your clothes, too much bleach will yellow the whites, it smells bad, and is just not worth the mess that it can make if you spill it and it comes in contact with something that it will ruin. I buy a bottle of bleach about every 12-18 months.
I use it to wash my white towels, wash rags, and dish towels along with my husbands underwear and socks. It kills the germs and I hate germs. Good luck. 2D
