Why does dye from coloured clothes not go on each other in the wash?

Question:If you put something red in with the whites, it turns everything pink, but different colours all get washed together so why for instance doesn't the red dye turn the blue stuff purple? Why's it only white stuff that gets affected? Also, some clothes have some white bits and some coloured bits. So why doesn't the colour affect the whole shirt in the wash?

Answers:
by the way... in response to your ignorant comment about anti-feminism..making generlizations/stereotypes about feminists shows how educated you must be. you cant even answer the question. just go back simpler things that are easier on the brain.. like laundry
