I keep baking soda in the frig. When I change it out, I dump the soda down the drain and run warm water with it just until it starts to dissolve, then let it set about an hour. Rinse on down. You can use fresh baking soda to do the same. When you aren't using the sink, remove the stopper completely to let air move more freely into the drain to prevent the mildewy smell. Hope this helps!
Pour in rock salt and vinegar. Add 1 cup boiling water. Allow to set for 30 minutes, and then flush with cold water. Not only will this help with the smell, it will clean the pipes.
dump bleach in the drain
when my drain smells I take a can of coke and poor it down the drain. then I take the bleach bottle and poor a cup of it down the drain also. This works for me and my father told me this along time ago. I still do it.
Does the drain have a garbage disposal? I sometimes peel a couple strips off the skin of an orange before I eat it and run that through.
I've also seen some household catalogs that have inexpensive sink strainers that are scented.
Hopefully these links will help! :)
use baking soda pour down the drain and afteryou do dishes and the sink is clear pour baking over the top of drain and let it sit until you use sink again i fish alot and rinse them in the sink even if the sink is open or clear just let it sit it wont hurt and you will like the results.
this works like a charm.
Try some bleach, baking soda or pine-sol. They all do the trick
Lemon or bleach works well.
