I know exactly what you mean! I'm sitting here answering questions when the house is a tip! Well, not really but it could do with a tidy at least! Got loads of ironing, more washing just finnished but not sure if it's going to rain again so don't want to put it out.
Hoping someone will give you some motivational advice so I can follow it!
All the best xxx
I wish my wife would do some..She expects me to do some now and i havent got time because i need to be down the bookies each day by 11...
hello i put the music up loud and dance my way through the housework give it a try x good luck
I hate doing it. I try to look at it in a different way to help as I do it . I will think well I'm getting in exercise. But most the time I'm like a big kid putting about it. I'll think I could be out side going for a walk or a million other things I would rather be doing. It doesn't help that I'm the one that does it all and I work outside the home too. Is it like that for you? The plus side if there is one, I do feel like i have accomplished something when it's finished.I like a clean house.
you have to get used to it soon..cause nobody else is going to do it for you. be patient. you can do it!
i do all the cleaning washing cooking etc because the missses wouldt so i have no choice but i dodt realy mind it as i dodt work argggggggggggggggggggggggggggg...
i hate it as well.. hmm.. share with ur housemates. or plan a time to finish it. watch tv while ironing?
I agree.. I would choose one task and then reward yourself when it is done by going out for a few hrs etc... When you look at the "whole" instead of the "parts" life seems overwhelming. Take one thing at a time and you will realize that its not all that much. Then when you comeplete the task, try to set aside certain days to do things in the house... by breaking it up, it wont seem so overwhelming...
I HATE IT BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE.
Hire a maid then pour yourself glass of wine! lol
just put a good cd on and try and do things to the beat lol know it sounds silly but thats what i do to motivate me...
anything can get boring if you do it over and over but hey its got to bo done
if u feel like ur lazy than i dont know what 2 tell u that would make u not be lazy but if u dont feel like doing work then think about what ur parents would do for u if u help them do chours around da house.....
I hate housework. Dishes, hoovering, dusting, windows, but for some strange reason love ironing. I think it is very relaxing. I usually do it (the ironing that is) whilst watching Columbo on TV.
I'm obsessed with it.Everything has to be in order or I can't sleep.
If the towels arent folded correctly or the pan handles face the wrong way I'm seriously annoyed.not to mention the 1 item that needs ironing.I get the iron out for just one thing lol
I don't have OCD before anyone thinks I have...I just love a clean home for my husband and kids.
Nothing wrong with that hey?
i also experienced that laziness habits but soon u can overcome especially when your mom keep nagging u.
If you have a man get him to do it, give yourself a break lol, you get the odd few men try and get off with things like that. Or get your kids to do it if you have any, treat them and give them some money to go to the shop or something and you take it easy, relax.
Just remind yourself that no matter how fantastic your day has been, the mounting chores will diminish the experience when you get home.
I find it best to tackle the mundane things first then the day just gets sweeter... Bad news that you have let things mount up perhaps you could involve the kids or your friends when they pop round, it's got to be worth a try.
don't you mean who likes it
i hate it
Oh, my friend, I'm sorry, but I can't help you 'cause I absolutely hate it, too!! That kind of work seems to be endless!
I don't really hate it. What upsets me is when a grown adult doesn't even throw their trash away or put their dishes in the sink, or put their laundry in the hamper. I mean come on! We are Not slaves. What motivates me is knowing if I don't do it, it will just build up. Then it just gets worse. If it's done a little at a time, it's not so bad. Occasionally, I iron. My mom used to iron socks and t shirts!! Tip, if you get it straight out of the dryer, there won't be wrinkles. If you have children and they are old enough, get their help.
Edit: I also use music. The TV can absorb you.
hire someone to do it at least occasionally so it oesnt get out of hand and too overwhelming
To tackle the laundry pile I tend to put away certain colours first...the following week I would put away a certain person's laundry first.
So I guess your mountainous pile of laundry could be tackled in the same way or you could let the family pick out their own and put it away, why not delegate responsibilities and give yourself a break?
It's always best to do a machine full at a time, wash it dry it and put it away after ironing, that way it wouldn't mount up.
I could have written this question. Cant bare it at the moment. My ironing seems to multiply every day I recon the pile is about 4 foot now and growing by the second. I'm seriously thinking of paying someone to come and do it. and then I can start a fresh.
I'll ask my mum next time she comes around to do mine!
put loads of fabric sofener in the washing machine put them in the drier till they are almost dry and then hang them up and put them away, dont really need to iro most of it then and if you do its just a qucik run over with the iron. as for the rest i just found i had to get into a routine and keep on top of it. and then about once a month i go through the house like a woman posessed and clean everything and throwing out anything i dont need or i have deemed useless and warning my partner and my son that if it not put away its going in the bin and i dont care what it is. admittedly i have a few times found that i have had to actually carry out the threat but they dont leave there stuff lying about any more.
Once you get on top of it it becomes a doddle to sort out, helps if you get some good drying days to work through the washing load!
If you get up and put away every time you get a chance and force everyone in the house to do so then you can easily work out a plan to get round the cleaning (every surface) at least once a week, skirting and the such need to be kept clean.
If you minimise on junk and only keep things that are beautiful, useful or seriously sentimental then it's easy to get round things and clean.
Look around your house and figure out all the pl;aces you can fit in additional storage. storage is the key, if you can hide it all out of the way then you can get on with the cleaning and need only spend a few hours a day on the Actual work side of things.
Good luck and I know it's easy for me to say, I sadly enjoy it.
Turn up your music and dive in. No one else will do it for you .the more you wait the bigger it will get.
take some of that laundry, mist it, and put it back in the dryer and let it spin five minutes. Pull it right out and put it on a hanger. I never have to iron
I cant believe some of these answers. I hate housework soo much Id ather eat my own liver but PLEASE not wahing but using softer? get ur mum to do it? hire a maid?
Just whack up Now Thats What I call Music (year of ur own choice) and run through. Great excercise and u will find a great sense of a job well done in the end
Now thats done I can gpo back to my dairy milk and my trashy novel ...ahhhhh
Ironing?...no way!...always buy stuff that can dry crease free...
OR...get into the frilly-maid lifestyle...and get everything done for free!
