Without doubt, Dyson. Mine beats every other vacuum I've ever had. It picks up so much dirt and dust it's mind-boggling. It's easy to look after, you can rinse out the dust chamber and easily clean the filters yourself. Even though initially it's may seem more expensive than others, you never have to buy bags, so you'll save heaps on those. Ever since I got my Dyson, my allergies have been a lot better.
I got this one.
Anything you purchase except a Dyson will be a waste of money.
We bought a DC17-Animal after being extremely disappointed in EVERY other vacuum we ever bought.
This machine is amazing. Yes it's $500 but it's worth every cent and more. I did a test spot (about 2' x 3') right after we bought it and it filled up the chamber. It was as though the carpet had never been vacuumed!
If you buy one, you won't be dissappointed, I promise.
