My dryer smells!?
Question:I have an electric dryer. It's about ten years old, but it still *works* find. It smells, though! It smells like old, wet laundry and I don't know what to use to clean it. Everything I have says not to expose to heat.
Anybody else have this problem?
Answers:
take the lint filter out and scrub with a small scrub brush and running water. allow it to dry in the sun. in the mean time use a long handled brush to reach down in the lint trap and remove an excess lint that has built up.
and finally take the hose off the back and clean it out as well.
be sure to unplug the dryer while you are performing this 'surgery'!
hope this helps
One thing you could try is to take the lint catch out and vacuum down in there. You'd be surprised how much lint gets trapped below the catch for it. This would probably improve the performance of the dryer too.
Try putting a small amount of baking soda in the next 3 loads you dry about two table spoons
