Music is a great help.
Learn the power of 15 minutes. Set a timer, turn the music on and tackle an area. Don't get side tracked, don't sit down and read every letter of card you pick up. Get 2 little boxes marked THROW and SORT and bung everything in there. Pop anything to be taken upstairs on the stair and don't go up empty handed!
Once 15 mins is up empty your boxes, put things away and feel pleased! GO for another 15 min dash in a while. Get up during the ad breaks and load the dishwasher, hang the washing out of hoover - you will get a lot done without having to feel like you have spent a day doing the housework!
Keep on top of your bathroom by giving the sink bath and loo a quick qipe over every morning when you pay your first visit to the loo. That way you will never have a grubby bathroom and you won't have to go to clean the loo as such!
Take a load of washing down with you first thing, hang it up as soon as you can and put it away when you bring it in otherwise it just becomes an unmanigable mountain.

I never iorn by the way. I just fold as soon as things come of the line or out the dryer. No one has ever told me I look crushed so I must look OK LOL! You really need to get thing out the washing machine as soon as they are done to get away with it!

ADDED: It will help you exercise by cleaning and running between the rooms to avoid being seen by the neighbours - unless you want them to and then it could be exercise for you by running room to room to be seen by the neighbours - Play loud music as well.
i make sure i am listening to up beat music when i'm cleaning. i also make sure the weather isn't all that great outside lol. but i just try to concentrate on one room at a time. once i start with it i don't normally stop til i'm done.

start at the top of the house then work your way down. do the kitchen last or you will be maintaining it all day. wash bed linen and towels the same day each week but a different day for each. get children to help. vacuum in the morning and dust in the evening. make people clean their own rooms. have washing baskets one for whites and one for colours. do one wash a day maximum. never iron anything fold it straight from the line buy clothes that need little ironing. i never iron but i always look great.
Shut the curtains. Play your favourite songs. Strip off and sing as you shine.

All right, first of all go room by room, i don't know why, but when i do it seems to go so much faster!
next put on some awesome music with a good fast beat (this will make you clean faster) and as you clean up you can dance.
Also make a pile of stuff you no longer need/want and then you can have a garage sale. these are good about every 6 months or so.
Reward yourself after cleaning the house to a nice relaxing evening, read a book, have a bath, or even go to a spa, we all need to feel appreciated and be rewarded for our hard work, i cant think of a better way!

if you are home alone and are not expecting anyone, do the housework naked. it's very invigorating and the feeling of freedom gives you a boost of energy. ( don't forget to pull down all the shades !! )

Tunes really make time pass better. I can't stress that enough. If you can get a friend or spouse to pitch in, that also makes it so faster and more enjoyable.
On a day off from work/school, straighten everything up, and then try to maintain. It's a lot easier to cleam up a couple small items here and there instead of letting the place go and then trying to clean up everything.

I absolutely agree with the people who said turning up music loud and grooving around while cleaning/washing dishes/whatever - currently my favourite cleaning music is Mr Scruff's "Keep it Unreal" album, but it changes almost every day!
As for doing household chores naked...
Everything's more fun when you do it naked! Especially if you have pets... There are few things funnier than seeing the expression on the face of your cat as you moonwalk past, from the sink to the hoover, wearing only a pair of marigolds!
And a cold beer at lunchtime... oh yeah. The extra guilty pleasure stems from knowing that your partner at work can't enjoy the simple things of life during their 9-5...!

Get yourself an iPod, load up your favourite music and listen to it while you work. Any ironing or folding of clothes, do in front of the TV watching your favourite shows or DVD's you may have. I find doing this, makes the household chores easier and faster to do. It's kinda like 'whistle while you work' :-)
Do it systematically. Don't overdo in one day. Maybe over 2 consecutive days or weekends. Depends on how much house work you have to do.
Start from the top level, one room at a time. Work your way down. At the same time, put on some music on, start dancing and get your cleaning groove on! Way hey!
I usually keep my house clean and tidy everyday. This way, it never get on top of me when the time comes for me to do some major cleaning. ;-)

House work is an unfortunate necessity. I don't know how to make more fun. I tend to either break it up into small sections of time or do a big blitz. Play some music as it makes the time go quicker. Doing house work naked means that when you are finished you don't have dirty clothes and can just jump in the shower afterwards. I always feel hot, sweaty and dirty after a blitz
Well I'm not sure how to make it easier but I might have a solution to make it fun. I play music while I do the clothes. I had created a playlist on www.projectplaylist.com and you can put together your own list of songs, any you want. And I just play it off my laptop while I clean. I dance around while I carry clothes to the bathroom and everything. Don't know if this would help you but I like to do it.
Are you a thinking person with a modicum of imagination? If so, steel yourself. There is NO way to make housework ,"fun". Either grit your teeth and do it ( alleviated by the accompaniment of your favourite music or an audio book) or go out and earn enough (by some way to your liking) to pay someone, who hopefully, having more amenable priorities than yourself, enjoys housework, and finds it fulfilling to come in and do it for you at a modest cost.
Music is a good one have a dance and excercise while hoovering etc. Best bit of advice though is to keep on top of it.
Dont let it get too bad wash up as you go along, put washing on before you go to bed. Do a room a day rather than try to do it all at once, make a routine for things and stick to it. Not easy but can be done. Once a month have a really good go at the whole house and do the extras like windows if you dont let it get too bad then its much quicker to keep clean,
