What to do if you break out from fabric softener?
Question:

Use Calamine lotion and take benydral for the rash. Then either change fabric softeners or use white vinegar. If you are using fabric softener to soften your clothes and prevent static you might want to try the scent free kind, cause that is what most people are allergic to.
uhh don't use it sweetie!!
Use white vinegar; it softens clothes and it certainly cheaper than fabric softener, only does not leave a smell behind. But if you are clean yourself and your clothes are clean that is what matters.
Replace your fabric softener with 1/2 cup of white vinegar (your clothes will not smell like vinegar).
Quit using the fabric softner! I changed over to Bounce Free sheets and I am fine now. You can use vinegar in your rinse cycle in your washer and very little and you don`t smell the vinegar!!
take some allergy medicine for now but stop using the fabric softener (I had to)
try a different one...and rewash the clothes that you have used it on.
perhaps vinegar would work best for you, but if you don't want to take the time and run back to the washer at rinse time, try a different one...but instead of using it on all of your clothes do a patch test first. rub a little bit (mixed with water) on your arm, put a band-aide over it and wait a few hrs. if you don't break out it should be safe to use.
instead of using fabric softener use hair conditioner in the rince water. or take a wet cloth and dab a few spots of hair conditioner on it and put in the dryer. i've tried this before and the cloths smell great if you use good smelling conditioner.
Take some Benedryl and rewash everything.
Don't use it. I break out when using fabric softener; therefore I do not use it. Our ancestors fared just fine without softeners but I will admit that a soft towel feels better on your behind after stepping out from a shower but you will survive. Our ancestors did.
