How do you clean water damaged 'satin' curtains?


Question:My sister was cleaning her room and found out after all the rains we have had in North Texas that her new curtains have water damage, near 4 inches up from the base. Does anyone know if she can clean them or will she just have to shorten them?? Please help, she is distraught. Thanks, Alicia.
