Laundry question?
Question:Washer broke...I want to bleach my whites, is it safe to do that in the bath tub? If yes then how long would I leave the clothes to soak? Thanks in advance! P.S None of the clothes are delicates.
Answers:
Yes.just be careful and don't use too much bleach ...about the same amount as you would in the washer. I'd say soak about 30 minutes.
Yes. I bleach clothes in the sink sometimes. Leave them in for about 5-10 minutes. Good luck!
sure use the bath tub. make sure you rince it before someone has a bath in it. the length of time depends on what you are trying to bleach. towls, and white clothes can be soaked over night. more delecate items half an hour should be enough. that answer your question?
I'd say yes but you really should be sure to wear gloves to protect your hands.
I'd say soak for about 10 to 15 minutes. After that time check and see if they need to stay longer.
it's safe but remember to go lightly on the bleach and start checking after about 15 minutes-depending on WHAT you are bleaching-another thing is to remember to RINSE well afterwards
HA HA HA I had that happen to me once or twice.
It is safe and it is more important that you scrub the clothes as well as let them soak. Soaking is great but it does not eliminate all of the dirt and grime. I would say that 5-10 min soak after a good scrub should be ok. Just make sure that you don't use too much bleach.
Yes its safe..just don't use so much bleach, and keep it in for about 10-15 minutes...
If you have the old style enamel tub = yes, then rinse with dish liquid & water. Fiberglass tubs is about all you see anymore & bleach isn't good for fiberglass. It would be better if you had a plastic tub or bucket for bleaching. Or wait until washer fixed. Or use laundrymat. Or wash in bathtub or sink without bleach this time.
hot water bleach and some detergent and rinse then ring them out and dry them
It would be better to soak your white in oxy clean than bleach for any length of time, it doesn't break down the fibers in clothes so they last longer. when you're through soaking your clothes and are ready to wash them, you could add bleach then.
its safe to bleach whites in the bath tub. Make sure the water is warm. Soak for about 10-15 minutes. Occasionally check on them for color change. Do not bleach anything made with spandex, urethane, polyurethane, or silk. The bleach will turn the white fabric yellow.
After you're done...rinse out the tub. The bleach might irritate your skin.
If your tub is not cast iron then it should be fine. Your soak time would be no longer than 5 mins. Please be sure to have the water cover the clothes. Use only a minimal amount of bleach. Mix bleach detergent and water together then add clothes. Many happy white clothes to you :)
