What kind of fabric for sofa/couch can easily clean the dirts or spills?
Question:we have a small kid. I remember seeing on TV about some kind of fabric, micro something, is easy to clean for food spills or spits, etc. Do you know?
Answers:
MICROFIBER!
I sold furniture for 8 years, plus I own some microfiber pieces (in cream, no less!) and I LOVE it...it cleans up super easy, usually with just water...never leaves a water ring, either.
You may also see it called micro-suede or ultra-suede...It's actually just a micro-denier weave of 100% polyester. It is really durable and cleanable...just invest in a nice piece of furniture! If you get a cheap microfiber, it doesn't clean up as well!
I hope this helps!
Almost any good furniture store should have a microfiber sectional. Do NOT...I repeat...do NOT...get vinyl...it wipes off easy, but it is incredbibly easy to tear, and unlike leather, it doesn't "breath" so it gets hot and sticky.
Leather is THE most durable thing you can buy...make sure that is a protected leather, though, because a natural leather (as beautiful as it is) is not resistant to stains and such.
Microfiber. We had a microfiber couch and it had many stains from our dogs. Now we have a vinyl couch and it is very easy to clean.
Microfiber, it's like suede.
DO: get either leather or a solid fabric, and have it Scotchguarded. (Not from the areosol can. the retailer should be able to provide it)
DON"T: get any "woven" fabrics. They're no better than a screen.
