Try Magic Eraser or rubbing alcohol... those wipes you use in an office to clean your keyboard, etc. also may work. I use them at work to remove pen ink and it does take it off
Using Methylated spirit, Apply with a soft cloth or rag, then rinse straight away with warm water and a small amount of dish soap, rinse and dry as quick as possible
Toothpaste, preferably all white. just rub in some toothpaste, leave it for a minute or two and then take a soapy, wet dishcloth (excess water squeezed out) and rub the marker stains going with the direction of the grain of the wood.
Rubbing alcohol works wonders with permanent markers!
If it has soaked through the varnish, or if the wood wasn't finished then you will need to sand it out. But rubbing alcohol really works great.
Permanent Marker Stain Removal from Wood Furniture
To remove a permanent marker stain from wood furniture, there are a few options available. You could try WD-40, non-gel toothpaste, or possibly baby wipes. Also, I´d suggest a bit of alcohol on a white cloth or paper towel, or visiting an office supply store to get a commercial felt pen ink remover. I would also recommend trying the method you choose on an inconspicuous area of the wood first to ensure that it doesn´t damage the finish.
Good Luck! =)
Denatured alcohol works quite well, test a hidden area first to make sure the finish on the table is not shellac as alcohol will dissolve that too.
