Real Hard Black Layers around the Gas Stove Burners!?

Try a 50-50 mixture of white vinegar & water spray. Let sit for awhile.
If you're talking about the removable rings around the burners, then go buy some new ones. They don't cost that much.
Dawn makes a spray for pots and pans that will eat through most anything. You have to leave it overnight, and it might take a try or two, but it works very well.
It comes in a dark blue spray bottle and it is thick and gooey. It's near the dishwashing liquid.
