Living fleas after fogging?
Question:We fogged today (1 in every room plus upstairs & downstairs hall), after 2.5 hours we aired it out and vacuumed. I noticed a few live ones in the bag that I removed and sealed in a clear plastic bag (which I froze to reuse). Is this normal? 1 seemed to die quite soon after escaping the bag.
I'm terrified we didn't kill the things!

If you are concerned that what you used didn't work there is something called Diatomaceous earth. It is a chalk like powder that you can spread around you home, in your pets bedding, and into their fur. It is mildly abraisive and it kills fleas (extremely extremely effective). If you buy the kind that is food grade it is great to mix a small portion (dime size) into the pets food every so often and it acts as a natural dewormer too. (It is safe for humans to use too). Basically this is a win win product and you can get it online or check some local feed shops and see what you get. It is actually not that expensive.
My brother had a serious flea infestation in his house and he had tried all sorts of products to no avail. He used this in his house and it flea free within a few weeks and he hasn't had problems since.
Wait 5 - 7 days cause you know they have layed eggs. It will take a few times to get them all... They are the hardest thing to get rid of... After the 5-7 days one check and see then wait about 2 weeks if you still have them try again! Good luck...
Hot shot will kill the living fleas that are in the air and carpet, but not the eggs. I suggest you also get a carpet cleaner with an insecticide in it. Fleas can be pesky and once then get intrenched they are hard to get out. You should also de bug the lawn outside, and debug the pets in the house. Last summer, two houses in our city were condemned and bulldozed because of serious flea infestations. The eggs will hatch in a few days and keep coming unless you kill them all.
I have had fleas in the house and have never fogged. I just got Advantage from the vet. 2 weeks later all fleas are gone, and did not return until the following year.
