How do I get an ink stain out of clothing?
Question:My friends husband left his pen in his shirt pocket and she washed it.then he put it in the drier. Is there ANY way to get these stains out now?? She can't bleach them because there are colored patches on the shirt
Answers:
I am not sure now that it has been dried but I have always had luck removing ink with hair spray. For some reason, it seems the cheaper the hairspray the better. Spray it on and blot it with a clean cloth - maybe even try a scrub brush.
Um ... scissors?
I am a big fan of lemon juice and baking soda. Make a paste like mixture and rub it on. Scrub it wash it out and repeat. Good Luck
Spray hairspray, rub it, dry it and wash it again.

Before treating any garment, always first refer to the instructions on the care label.

2) Use a spot remover or take the item to a professional dry cleaner for treatment.
Or
1) Carefully apply ink remover to the stained area of the garment. Use paper towels to absorb the ink coming off the item and to avoid transfer. The recommended ink remover is NCP Jinx InkĀ®, available by calling 1-800-776-8688.
2) Wash in warm water with 1 use of Tide
3) Air dry. Repeat the procedure, if necessary.
You can use blean but use color bleach. Don't use clorox... only if your shirt is white...then you may use clorox.
This is a "drycleaner's nightmare". More than likely that stain is set, and may not come out at all. The best thing to do is take it to the cleaners and let them use their commercial spot removers on the stains. Don't do anything else to the shirt , just take it in and let the professionals try to get it out.
This might sound crazy, but I had a similar accident lstnight with a pen and my new comfonter. So I tried using hair spray but it didn't take out much of the stain. Out of curiousity I put whitening toothpaste on it and let it sit for 20mins before scrubbing it and it took the stain right out.
Also, I've been told by my sister that soaing it in whole milk will work.
