How do I clean my Ecco Cosmo sandals?

Question:The sole absorbs sweat and other liquids, the result being that it doesn't smell very nice. According to the retailer it can't be cleaned. Has anybody found out a way to do it anyway?

I just cleaned my Eccos the other day. I was at work and they smelled so awful I was sure everyone thought I'd come to work after mowing the yard or something. Here's what I did: in the restroom at work I was lucky enough to find a canister of those pop-up wipes (like baby wipes) and used one on the inside sole of each shoe. It made a huge difference. Now I have to go out and buy some of those odor eater type of shoe inserts before I wear them again!
