How can I clean and brighten my shirt?
Question:I have a nice colorful knit shirt, 100% cotton that I want to wash and brighten the white as well as the colors. What do I use/do? Got the shirt during the 96 Olympics. Beautiful eagle, flag, etc.
Answers:
I use oxyclean. I don't pay attention to how long it says to soak garments, I just take them out of the soak when I get a chance...which has been as long as 2 weeks before! (I'm a busy mom, what can I say!) Soaking in oxyclean has taken stains out I didn't think possible: the most difficult being very old baby formula stains on clothes I pulled out of the closet 2 years after the stain happened. Almost every single stain came out.
Best brightener for colors and all fabrics is 20 mule team borax, available at most larger groceries. Cheap too, and really does work even though it is an "old timey" cleaning product.
I buy safe, nontoxic cleaners from a wholesale site. They have great laundry products. And their all natural, won't hurt your clothes. Feel free to click my avatar and email if you'd like more inforation.
Good luck to you!
