I spilled candle wax on my carpet, is there any way to get it out?
Question:
Answers:
For the candle wax on the carpet you need to put down paper towels over the wax, and run your iron over that. i.e., melt the wax and blot it up with paper towels. Remember to change the paper towels as the wax is absorbed. This information came from a carpet cleaner.
if you have a brown paper bag and a regular iron...you can lay the bag on top of the wax and with a warm iron pressed on it, the bag will absorb the wax. Be careful not to set the iron too hot!
Use ice, cover the wax with ice in a plastic baggie (sealed)and let the wax get really cold, it should come off easier this way.
Paper towel folded
Iron heated to low
melt it onto towel
put another towel in place of old one and do it again and again til it is all absorbed
Get lots of white paper towels and warm up your iron, not too hot to start off. Lay a couple paper towels on the wax and gently apply the iron, moving it at all times (ie don't let it sit in one spot) and checking often to see if the wax is melting and wicking into the paper towels. You can raise the heat a bit on the iron if needed. Be patient. Change the paper towels often and repeat until no more is coming out. I hope the wax is not red because it may stain your carpet, but there are products that will remove red stains available at your local janitor supply outlet.
Easy use a towel to cover the carpet area, then ironing with a warm iron (not to hot) and thats it. Change the towel every ironing.
