What is the best method to clean a black glasstop stove?
Question:i need help!
Answers:
Most appliance stores have some really good cleaners made especially for glass top stoves.. though using mild dish soap will work with a lot of elbow grease. If you have any burnt on food or liquid you can scrap it off with a PLASTIC scrapper using light pressure.
Home Depot and Lowes sell a cleaner thet is the best.
windex or just plain soap and water...no abrasives
heather is right. iv only seen it at lowes but the stuff that i use is orange [something] i cant remember. but it works so good! you just spray a layer on your stove top let it sit for a couple minutes (i usually put away the dishes while i wait) then use a sponge to get off any extra stuff that is stuck, then you can just wipe the rest off with a paper towel.
I use Greased Lightening on mine and one of the nylon scrubbies for teflon pans or even one of the bath scrubbies will work then wipe with a dish rag and buff dry with a towel.
Windex really works well on our glass top stove. It cleans and shines, as well as leaves the "Windex-scent".
Glass-top stove cleaner, (in the small white plastic bottle), does a good job for burned on items, (such as a piece of fried rice that slides under a frying pan.) However, for everyday general cleaning, I reach for the blue bottle of Windex.

When I got my stove from sears, it came with a stove top cleaner much like soft scrub. It is advised that you apply a nice wet layer, let it sit on the cold surface and then scrape it off with a window scraper. It will not harm the glass and it will get all the burned on stuff off and restore the gloss. If you still have some stubborn residue, put on one more coating and then use a green scratchy pad. It will remove the gunk without scratching. Do not use anything like an sos pad or brillo pad... tooo srcatchy.
