Will hot water hurt color of laundry?

Question:Hi, if I use hot water for my bed linens, will it damage the color? Can I put two different colors in the same wash if it is hot water?

Answers:
some fabrics are more color-fast than others. however over time all fabrics will fade. hot water will accelerate the fading. with todays great detergents there is no need to use hot water. i wouldnt suggest putting in a lite color with a dark color in hot water. better yet, get off the hot water kick and dont worry about it. you will save energy money and be kinder to the environment. if u are crazzzzzzzzzy for clean, get some color safe bleach alternative. happy cleaning.

Yes, COLORS can be washed together. However, hot water can cause them to look faded and dingy over time. WHITES should NEVER be washed with COLORS and should always be bleached.
Hot water works..
will not damage.yes you can add both colors
YESSSS!
I use cold water to keep it looking new all the time. but you can use hot water but it really will kinda fade the look of your bed linens and not that new look.
try the Cheer laundry soap for cold water and you'll see the colors look so nice and it will give it that new look too.
good luck
Hot water can change the colours of laundry. It is sometimes safer to wash in warm or cold water to be on the safe side. It saves money using cold water with the correct washing powder as well.
Hot water will fade colors. I would not mix colors if you are using hot water. Warm water is fine to wash bed linens. When I've needed to mix colors in the wash, I use a product called Color Catcher by Shout. It's awesome--saves you from having a color transfer. Also, when you want to wash an item that's brightly colored and hasn't been washed before, I always take the time to wash it separately. Some dyes do bleed and can make for quite a disasterous washload.
Experience has taught me that the first time you wash an item (especially dark items) you have to wash them with similar colors in hot water. After that you can through them in with pretty much anything and the colors will not run.

One reason why dark clothes look faded is because the actual fabric itself begins the piling process. To avoid this, wash clothes on a gentler cycle or inside out. If you're even more ambitious, don't put them in the dryer !!
I would never wash any linen in hot water,it will shrink.i wash all colors in cold only. The colors will run and fade if washed in hot.But it is your clothes.Hope this helps.
Hot water will let the color come out of your clothes. i would wash in cold to prevent fading.
