I did see the comment about using unsweetened Kool-aid drink mix in the dishwasher and it really works... I use generic Kool-aid mix any kind and I run acouple of envelopes through my dishwasher on an empty cycle the dishwasher will smell fresh and fruity and the citric acid in the drink mix will clean the hard water deposits... Don't worry it won't stain... I do this atleast once a month.

It might be deposits from your water. Ask other people in your area if they have similar problems.
use a little clr or calgon in your machine with each wash. it might just be lime
You have to use an additive - a liquid called Jet Dry. It is in the same aisle as detergents in the grocery store.
There is a special dispenser for it in dishwashers, usually in the back of the door. The round top turns and pulls out and you pour some liquid in from the Jet Dry bottle - just fill up the dispenser (it takes about 1/2 of the bottle) and turn the top back on the dispenser till it is tight. One fill-up will last through many washes. It will make your drinking glasses crystal clear also.
Happy Washing !
You need a rinsing agent like Jet Dry. You just pour some into the rinsing agent holder (usually on the door of your dishwasher) and it does the rest. You can find it where they sell dishwasher soap.
definately hard water. I had the same problem and then mine stopped spraying it was so clogged with hard white deposits! running the dishwasher with ALOT of vinegar (4 gallons worth eventually & a dental pick) helped clean it out and get it spraying again...I now have a Sears water softener system and spot free dishes! Have you tried Jet Dry in the rinse aid dispenser? If that doesn't help either, only thing you can do is rectify your home water with a softener. Not only good for your dishes, but your hair, your plants and if you can find an "energy star" system, a tax write off ! Hope this helps and good luck!
I have very hard water also. Put one envelope of lemon koolaid, it has to be lemon, in each load of dishes, in addition to your detergent. Use the unsweetened kind. It works really well, but I'm not sure why.
It is most likely due to high mineral content in your water, a condition known as "hard water." There are products on the market, like Jet Dry, which are designed to counter the effects of hard water. Also, there are some dish washing detergents on the market, like Cascade Complete, which are supposedly designed to be an all-in-one product, and which allegedly obviate the need for anti-hard water products. Look for them in your local supermarket. You may have a special dispenser built in to your dishwasher which is designed to dispense anti-hard water products during the wash cycle. Check the dishwasher itself, or consult the operating manual to confirm this. Even if your dishwasher doesn't come equipped with this sort of dispenser, you will still be able to use Jet Dry or similar products because they often come equipped with special hangers designed to hang from the dishwasher's interior.

To find others, just google "water spots on dishes."
put white vinegar in the rinse aid compartment it is cheaper and way better than Jet Dry
Try using one of those products that is to clean the inside of your dishwasher. It helps eliminate built up deposits that leave the spots. Also add jet dry or another rinse aid.
