Why, after doing my laundry, are there small holes appearing in all my shirts?

Sounds like you're using too much bleach, or, you work with battery acid or another type of acid in your line of work and you're getting small drops on your clothes.
It could mean too much bleach or you're overdrying them. Both of which can lead to the clothing getting dried out and forming holes.
My guess is going to be something regarding bleaching your shirts. Bleach is a very powerful cleaner, and when not used properly can ruin fabrics. To safely add bleach to your laundry use 3/4 cup of regular bleach per load. If your washer has a bleach dispenser, pour the bleach in there. If your washer doesn't have one, then dilute the bleach in a quart of water, and add it to the laundry after the wash cycle has started.
Or you might want to check your laundry bin for mice.
It could be any number of things. Check your dryer drum and see if there are any rough spots inside. Run your hand along the inside of the drum. If it's a porceline drum, there may be a chip(s) in it which could cause the holes. If you dry pants with any of your shirts, be sure to zip and fasten them before drying, because the zipper threads can catch the material and cause holes, especially if your shirts are cotton knit! Over drying can also be a cause of it. Hope these ideas help.
Check your washer and dryer really well for small holes; Put an old panty hose on your hand and run it around the inside of both to check them. If you find a hole you can repair it by sanding it and using porcelien paint (buy it by the tube at Wal Mart for about $ 2.00) let dry. Should fix it.
You might be washing your clothes on a cycle that's too rough and it's stretching the fibers causing holes... I wash my jeans/ and heavy clothing on permanent press and my satin, silks and cotton t's turned inside out on a regular cycle and I hang most of my things to dry.
Are you bleaching them?Have you seen any ants around they eat clothes and make those small holes.I found out that the hard way.Now when hubby has sweaty clothes,I throw them right in the washer.hope this helps.
I had this same problem with some t-shirts and I'm thinking it was what I was washing them with. (jeans). I think the zipper was catching on my clothes or something. They were not big holes, little ones. Wash the shirts seperately and see if any more develop
